According to “WFO”, global hunger isn’t about from a lack of food. Right now, the world produces enough food. But nearly a third of all food produced each year is lost before it can be consumed. In many rich countries, this food waste happens in the kitchen — when we prepare foods that go uneaten, or leave food to spoil in fridges and kitchen cabinets. Lots of people want to donate this food but don’t know how to do it and where to do it.
GetaMeal is a platform to get connect the food donor & the volunteer. People can post their home surplus food here & locally available volunteer will pick it up and distribute to the needy people.
Making a platform which will connect the food donor and the volunteers as a solution to get rid of this food wasting problem. Where volunteer can contact with food donors to collect home surplus foods.

Amrita is a volunteer & working to feed hungry people, who needs to find donor to donate food because she & her organization wants to distribute it to the hungry people.
Razib is a restaurant owner who needs to find sole volunteer or organization to distribute food to needy people because everyday lots of food are being wasted in his restaurant & he wants to donate it.
Mapping Razib’s user journey revealed how helpful it would be for users to have access to a dedicated app if they wants to donate their home or business surplus food.
User had difficulty to upload their food images into post.
User had difficulty to sort & filter the post based on date, distance, type, etc.
User wants more information on post page like - food type, veg-non veg clarity, donor location, distance etc.
I learned that even though the problem I was trying to solve was a big one, diligently going through each step of the design process and aligning with specific user needs helped me come up with solutions that were both feasible and useful.
